This amateur weather station is located at an altitude of 65m around 400m to the North of the town centre of Corps-Nuds. Corps-Nuds is roughly 20km to the South of the city of Rennes in Brittany in the West of France. The commune is mainly agricultural and is notable for an unusual looking church which dominates the town centre. The population is around 3000.
Fine Offset WH1080 sensors for wind, rain, temperature and humidity were mounted on an aluminium pole at a height of around 2.5m in July 2012. The rain gauge was subsequently relocated to ground level as it was occasionally triggering due to the wind. In December 2020 the sensors were replaced with a more recent single-block unit unit from the same manufacturer. This unit was subsequently replaced in December 2024.
The station's indoor unit is connected via USB to a Raspberry Pi running pywws scripts for data processing. Data is logged at 10 minute intervals, with processing and FTP upload to the web performed every 30 minutes. These web pages are a first attempt at responsive design and should render well on devices down to smartphone size.
